Governor of the Hardap Region Salomon April met with the unemployed youth who are gathered at the facility, where the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is conducting training for polling officials, today. April has called on the youth to remain calm and patient. The youth have been going to the venue since the training started on Wednesday demanding to be placed in vacant positions. About 500 polling officials are in the last day of training in Mariental and Rehoboth, then they will be dispatched to polling stations in the region. When NBC News arrived at the training facility this morning, all vacant posts were filled. The gathered group, whose size has diminished since Thursday, has slowly dispersed after the Governor addressed them.
