The Ministry of Health and Social Services on Tuesday signed a five years memorandum of understanding with the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA), on National Special Data and Infrastructure Development. Speaking at the ceremony Health Executive Director Ben Nangombe said the Ministry has the mandate to ensure quality public health care services and that can only happen if there is data that's updated to help plan and respond effectively. Statistician-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Statistics Agency, Alex Shimuafeni said the two organisations have already been co-operating in areas of statistics and data and more recently, to collect data related to COVID-19. He said NSA will continue to build capacity across government in areas of Geographic Information systems
