High Court rules Namibian Marine Phosphate's environmental clearance certificate unprocedurally obtained

The High Court has ruled that the environmental clearance certificate of the Namibian Marine Phosphate, unprocedurally obtained. Judge Harald Geier also found that the company was in breach of a 20-year mining license issued to it in July 2011, when it carried out trial mining without a valid environmental clearance certificate. Namibian Marine Phosphate intends to carry out seabed phosphate mining off the Namibian coast.
