Johannes Frederick has been elected as the Chief of the !Aman Traditional Authority, after two rounds of an election process that was largely described as free, fair and peaceful. The position became vacant after the death of Chief David Frederick in 2018. The incumbent chief called for the unification of the !Aman Traditional Authority and pledged to work towards uniting all factions. The other two traditional council members that took part in the elections are, Cornelius Cloete and Christoph Boois. Both congratulated the new chief, pledging to work toward the betterment of the !Aman.
