Local Authority Councilors for Usakos, Karibib and Omaruru are advised to put the needs and interests of their residents first. This was the call by Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development Natalia |Goagoses during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, "OKULAC MOU", by the three local authorities. The three local authorities have agreed to cooperate and collaborate in matters pertaining to technical, economic, social, financial, human resources, and governance. |Goagoses says each of these towns brings distinct characteristics while sharing similarities such as transportation corridors, tourism routes, landscapes, and cultural dynamics. She says the cooperation agreement will ultimately lead to greater economic development and improved service delivery in their respective towns. The corporation agreement will also see a united rotational annual festival, which is set to be the biggest economic equaliser for both SMEs and businesses for growth. The Mayor of Omaruru Vincent Kahua is optimistic that the OKULAC agreement will unite and benefit the three towns.
