Northern-based businessman Sindano Hango, who was convicted of raping his cousin, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Magistrate Leopoldt Hangalo. Hango was found guilty of raping his cousin in October 2014. He was initially acquitted of the crime but the Oshakati High Court convicted him in February 2021, after the state successfully appealed against the acquittal. Hango was represented by Kadhila Amoomo, while prosecutor Nelao Ya France appeared for the state.
