Like everywhere else in the world the COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the tourism industry in Namibia. A major contributor to the gross domestic product (GDP), which largely depends on foreign visitors, is struggling to get on its feet. October would have been the busiest month for most lodges in Namibia. However, lodges and tourist attractions are empty, safari vehicles are parked and rooms and restaurants are also empty.
