Petrol station owners and their employees at Swakopmund are not spared from economic burdens due to travel restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19. The Swakopmund Municipality has identified essential workers and other vulnerable groups negatively affected by COVID-19 to benefit from a food distribution programme. Many owners now have no option but to reduce the salaries of staff members who are struggling to survive.
