Minister of Defence, Rear Admiral Peter Vilho joined the Luderitz Council in delivering certificates of acknowledgement, for freshly serviced erven, to the residents of Luderitz's informal settlements. The certificates will allow them to construct a temporary or permanent structure on the land. The beneficiaries were selected from the existing application for erven waiting list. The CEO of the town reiterated the council's commitment to delivering affordable land and housing for residents, while Vilho called on the private sector to meet Government halfway in solving the housing backlog. This, Vilho says, is possible when private companies take care of the housing needs of its employees.
