A 49-year-old man is expected to appear in the Karaburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he allegedly stabbed to death a 70-year-old man at Noordoewer on Friday. Namibian Police Force (NamPol) crime investigations coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday that the deceased was identified as Thomas Johannes. The incident allegedly happened between 19h00 and 20h00 at the border settlement. He said the deceased was stabbed with an Oryx horn twice on the left side of his chest, under his ribs. “A quarrel arose between the two men and the victim went into his house and came out with the Oryx horn whereby the suspect grabbed the horn and stabbed the deceased, it is still unknown as to what caused the argument between them,” said Mubebo. The deceased’s next of kin has been informed of his death and police investigations continue. -NAMPA
