A 36-year-old male was arrested for extortion and for impersonating a police officer at Walvis Bay, the Namibian Police Force has reported. The crime report issued on Sunday indicates that the incidents occurred between March 2021 and 16 April 2021 in Kuisebmond and other areas at the town. It is alleged that the suspect pretended to be a police officer and threatened Angolan nationals who sell recharge vouchers in town with deportation and demanded cash or recharge vouchers in return. The total value allegedly extorted from them is N$65 200. No recovery was made and police investigations continue. -NAMPA
