Namibian Police at Otjiwarongo have confirmed the death of a 36-year-old man who died in a tractor accident outside Otavi in the Otjozondjupa Region. According to regional police spokesperson, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, the deceased has been identified as Part Erik Roots. Mbeha says Roots was a passenger on the tractor that overturned at a bridge about five kilometres out of Otavi. The tractor was en route from a dam to farm Otavi Fontein at around 20h00 on Friday. Roots fell off the tractor, which rolled and trapped him under. He was declared dead on the scene. He was a resident of farm Success. His next of kin are informed and police investigations continue.
