Many people with disabilities stemming from various medical conditions continue to suffer in silence amid increased vulnerabilities. This was the view of Florian Marembo, founder and director of Marembo Charity Foundation. The foundation has been assisting vulnerable people in the two Kavango regions. The latest beneficiary is 67-year-old Galius Mutero, from Kasote Village outside Rundu, who suffered spinal injuries 11 years ago which left him paralyzed in both legs. The illness also affected Mutero's ability to speak properly. Marembo says he was touched after hearing of Mutero's plight a few months ago and started soliciting assistance to buy him a wheelchair.
