MP calls on Labour Ministry to address rising incidences of unfair labour practices

Member of the National Council, Bethuel Tjaveondja, complained about the rising incidences of unfair labour practices in the country and called on the Labour ministry to swiftly address the situation. Contributing to the ministry's 2022-23 budget allocation debut in the house, Tjaveondja pointed out that tenders awarded to foreign companies for more than three years only employ local workers for a short period of time. He said some companies are forcing their workers to observe the employer's religion and culture which are alien to the locals. He says this is unacceptable and that the ministry should do something to stop the situation.
