The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR), is confident that oil will be discovered in Namibia soon. NAMCOR Managing Director, Immanuel Mulunga says the future for Namibia looks good in the oil and gas industry. Mulunga is part of a Namibian delegation, attending the Africa Energy Week, happening in Cape Town, South Africa. He addressed a session on Increasing Production and Investment in the Energy Transition World. He also told the gathering that stakeholders in the oil industry strongly believes that Namibia will be the next country to discover oil in Africa. Mulunga added that oil exploration company Recon Africa just completed its 2nd seismic shoot in northeast Namibia and the company expects to start drilling in the first quarter of 2022. Shell and Total Energy will also be drilling in the Orange basin next month.
