Namibia continues to stand with all SADC member countries - MIRCO

A senior official in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) says Namibia continues to stand with all SADC member countries against contemporary crimes and issues threatening the region. MIRCO Acting Head of Multilateral Relations and Cooperation, Jerobeam Shaanika, says the country is opposed to tribalism, racism, human trafficking, radicalisation, domestic violence, poverty and other common threats. He says sacrifices SADC's people made to its liberation should empower inhabitants to forge ahead with the regional bloc's economic integration. Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Executive Secretary, Stergomena Lawrence Tax has urged member states to speed up the inclusion of Southern African liberation history in school curricula. She says this will be for the benefit of current and future generations. They were both speaking Wednesday in relation to the commemoration of Southern Africa Liberation Day. The day is observed on 23 March every year in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the region. It is further observed in celebration of the solidarity that exists among SADC member states.
