The 1994 social grants agreement is to be reviewed to ensure that the rightful beneficiaries receive their money while addressing the issue of dual citizenship. Officials of the Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare Ministry met with their South African counterparts to implement and review bilateral agreements mainly on health and welfare services, such as the social grants bilateral agreement which binds South Africa to continue paying the benefit to its citizens who lived in Walvis Bay at the time the agreement was signed.
