Namibia suspends imports of poultry, poultry products from Germany and Netherlands

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry has suspended the import and in-transit movement of poultry and its products from Germany and the Netherlands. The ban follows the outbreak of highly contagious bird flu in the two countries. The ministry says importers should immediately suspend the import and in-transit movement of live poultry, birds, raw and uncooked poultry products and live and raw ostrich products. However, cooked poultry meat products for commercial purposes can still be imported under the veterinary import permit.
