Namibia urged to modernise wildlife welfare regulatory policy

The owners of award-winning wildlife charity, Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary, say there is a need for Namibia to modernise and benchmark its laws that regulate the protection of wildlife with global standards. In an interview with NBC News, Rudie van Vuuren indicated that they have registered over 30 cases in which injured wild animals were assisted to die due to the lengthy process in acquiring permitS before they are allowed to provide care as stipulated by law.
