The Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) in the Kavango West Region are investigating a company for fraud after it allegedly collected money from people in Nkurenkuru. Police say Angelino Investment CC is suspected of collecting money from people with a promise of giving them jobs. They say the company has further been urging people to pay N$100 and stand a chance to win N$10 000 to N$100 000 in prize monies within 21- days. NAMPOL Kavango West commander, Commissioner Josephat Abel says a case of fraud, money laundering and theft under false pretence has been opened. Commissioner Abel says the company does not have official documents authorising it to collect money from the public. He says the company is registered, but suspects that it has been conducting activities outside of its scope of registration. Bank of Namibia Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, Kazembire Zemburuka, says the bank is aware of the business activities of Angelino Investment CC. He says that they are conducting an investigation to determine if its operations have contravened the Banking Institutions Act.
