Nexus Construction Company in Impalila Island on Friday created an access road to the scene where an aircraft crashed into the Zambezi River on Tuesday killing all five occupants. This comes after two aircraft accident investigators assessed the scene on Thursday and engaged the company to join efforts. The aircraft cannot be retrieved from the river using boats because of the nature of the terrain. The investigators are meeting with other stakeholders at Katima Mulilo and Impalila Island to put logistics together for investigations to start soon after the retrieval of the aircraft from the river. The investigators and other stakeholders are expected to go back to the scene on Monday for more work to be done before extensive investigations are carried out. The German embassy told nbc News that it cannot, at this stage, share any information with the media as to how the repatriation or burial of the deceased will be conducted. The Chargé D'affaires at the German embassy says they have taken all necessary steps to deal with the situation.
