NTA wants greater private sector involvement in apprenticeship programmes

About 2 300 employers in Namibia are registered with the Namibia Training Authority, of which only over 50 have so far joined the apprenticeship programme. This, the NTA says, is simply not enough and it is for this reason that the private sector is being urged to participate more in the programme which aims to reduce the skills gap in the labour market. The call was made by speakers at the official opening of the National TVET Apprenticeship week in Windhoek.
