NUST wins BoN Tertiary Institutions Debating Challenge

The Namibian University of Science and Technology won the Bank of Namibia Tertiary Institutions Debating Challenge. They met at the final with the International University of Management (IUM). The two institutions were arguing on the motion 'The Common Monetary Area is the correct springboard for a future SADC common currency'. NUST was for the motion that it would be beneficial for the SADC region to use one single currency, while the IUM was opposing. The central bank hosted its second Tertiary Institutions Debating Challenge, which aims to encourage robust dialogue between institutions of higher learning. Hilya Indongo, the second speaker on the NUST team was chosen as the best speaker and was awarded N$2 500.
