The Queen of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority, Ohamba Meekulu Martha Mwadinomho yaKristian Nelumbu has reinstated a senior councillor, George Nelulu, who was last month suspended without her knowledge. She is, however, worried that the traditional authority's official stamp with her signature that went missing for months and later used to unlawfully suspend Nelulu might have been used in other illegal activities in the name of the traditional authority. Nelumbu pleaded for assistance in tracing the author of the suspension letter who remains unknown with all the senior councillors who attended the meeting that made the suspension decision distancing themselves from writing the letter that was delivered to Nelulu by a messenger accompanied by the police. Ohamba Nelumbu today held a meeting to clear the air saying her name was dragged into the mud by the author of the letter making her appear to be part of the decision to suspend Nelulu. Nelulu said even though he is happy that he has been reinstated and his name is cleared he is now scared to work with those who orchestrated his suspension, adding that they are capable of doing worse as there is deep hatred within Oukwanyama Traditional Authority's leadership. Asked by NBC News as to what action will be taken against the author of the suspension letter once found, the queen said she wants an appropriate action taken but for now she wants an investigation to find the responsible person. Nelulu, who is the chairperson of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority and head of the Eudaneko district, was suspended for allegedly favouring the Aandonga tribe by taking a unilateral decision to shift the border between Oukwanyama and Ondonga, a decision that left some homesteads that were part of Oukwanyama to fall under the Ondonga Traditional Authority. The meeting that suspended Nelulu was chaired by retired politician and head of the Omhedi district, Hadino Hishongwa, with some senior traditional councillors in attendance. Also clearing his name, Hishongwa said he only chaired the meeting because he is the deputy chairperson of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority and he is obliged to do that in the absence of Nelulu. The suspension automatically made Hishongwa the Chairperson of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority.
