Out of the 119 polling officials expected to be trained for Okalongo Constituency in the Omusati Region, only 104 showed up. Upon hearing this news unemployed residents in the area submitted their names to the ECN Returning Officer, Kawana Pankratius. Pankratius said because time is running out he expects to fill the remaining 15 positions by 13h00 today so the new polling officials can join others in the training that started yesterday and expected to end tomorrow. He is now waiting for a directive from his seniors to fill the positions. Some successful candidates withdrew at the 11th hour, with some claiming they are in other towns and do not have transport money while others cited study reasons. Okalongo Constituency has a total of 21 polling stations, 19 of them are fixed with two mobile stations.
