After nearly two months of a dry spell, Omundaungilo Village in Ohangwena Region received good rains yesterday. The rain which started just before 17h00 in the afternoon filled up and submerged the oshana which was dusty and dry just hours before. The rain continued this morning keeping the residents off their mahangu fields. It is great for those who ploughed a little late as they wait for rain. Their seeds can now germinate. The early birds however are dancing to see their fields finally watered, blossoming and all green. While this is a welcoming event in weeks of dryness and scorching sun, roads that are already in a bad state have become slippery and bumpy. The stretch of the 15 kilometres road leading to Omundaungilo Village has been in a bad state over the last few years. Those using the road should take precaution.
