Outgoing Omusati Police Regional Commander Commissioner Titus Shikongo, who has been at the helm of the region since 2018, handed over the instruments and symbols of power and command to incoming Regional Commander Commissioner Ismael Basson at Outapi this morning. Shikongo was hailed for maintaining a high standard of teamwork during his tenure as commander in the region and during his 42 years of a police career. Basson was appointed as the new Omusati Police Regional Commander on the 1st of September taking over from Commissioner Shikongo who retired on the 31st of August. Commissioner Basson promised effective policing and quality law enforcement to members of the public. He says his door is open to everyone because he wants to be transparent in his service delivery.
