Over 50 UNAM students at Rundu Campus denied registration for owing the institution

More than 50 Unam students at the Rundu Campus were denied registration for owing the institution thousands of dollars in tuition fees. Our NBC News team caught up with some of the frustrated students who blamed their situation on the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF). Anselma Kudumo was denied registration into her final year because she owes UNAM N$26 000 from her first year. Kudumo explained that she was awarded a loan of N$24 000 per year in 2019 and signed a contract to that effect, but NSFAF never paid. She says the fund only started paying in 2020 leaving her in arrears of the first academic year.
