The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Habitat is not happy, the way a N$23 million allocation for the construction of the Ombonde-Omapale water booster and ground reservoir at Ompundja Constituency, was utilised. The project got off the ground in January this year, but faced several challenges, from the COVID-19 pandemic to flooding and bad roads leading to the site. Non-involvement by the elected politicians to oversee the project was another concern raised, as the consulting engineer turned out to be both the consultant and main contractor on the project.
