President Hage Geingob has accorded an official funeral on the late veteran, Accotty Julius Ouseb. 76-year-old Ouseb, who died on the 29th of March, will be interred on a date and place to be agreed to in consultation with the family. Ouseb was a freedom fighter and a veteran of the liberation struggle. Through his artistic work, Ouseb took part in various uprisings in 1978 against the apartheid era leading to the Independence of Namibia. He was elected and served as SWAPO Secretary for Culture in the Windhoek Branch. President Geingob says Ouseb will be remembered for his contribution to the country’s liberation struggle for independence. Dr. Geingob describes the late veteran as a fearless, reliable and committed freedom fighter who dedicated his youth to the liberation struggle of Namibia.
