President Hage Geingob has called for concerted efforts to empower women to participate fully in the mainstream economy and environmental spheres of society, as the world marks International Wome's Day. President Geingob said the day not only raises awareness on gender issues but is a crucial reminder that more still needs to be done. Namibia, the President says, prides itself on the progress made in increasing women's representation in Parliament from 7% at independence to 46% in the current parliament.
