President Geingob commends resilience and nature of the Chinese people

President Hage Geingob, during his goodwill message to the President of China at the beginning of the Chinese New Year, has commended the resilience and nature of the Chinese people. In a letter addressed to President Xi Jinping, President Geingob commended China's consistent support to Namibia, which he says, has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Namibia, even amidst difficult times such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. The people to people exchanges and the unbreakable bonds of friendship that exist between Namibia and China based on mutual respect and a win-win partnership, Dr Geingob says, has provided a solid foundation for the two countries, as all-weather friends to face the future with renewed confidence and hope. As the Chinese people celebrate the Year of the Tiger, which is a symbol of bravery and courage, President Geingob on behalf of the Namibian people, wished his counterpart and the Chinese people a healthy, happy and prosperous Chinese New Year. Celebrated by nearly 2 billion people worldwide, the Lunar New Year rang in today, with festivities that can go on for more than two weeks.
