President Hage Geingob has conferred the honour of a State Funeral - to the late teacher and liberation struggle veteran, Martin Shipanga. In a statement issued to the media, the Presidency said Shipanga's remains would be buried at the Heroes Acre on Saturday - following consultation with his wife and family. Also announced was a period of national mourning - between Thursday, 2 July to Saturday, 4 July. Shipanga died last weekend, at his home in Windhoek. He was aged 88.
