President Hage Geingob has sent a congratulatory message to Moekets Majoro for his appointment as Prime Minister of Lesotho. Geingob says Namibia views Lesotho as a role player within SACU, SADC and AU communities, Thus he says, Namibia looks forward to working closely with the new Prime Minister, in building on the already strong relationship the two countries have developed over decades, as well as advancing the regional and continental economic agenda. He expressed hope that the new Lesotho premier would bring about peace, unity and economic prosperity for the people in that country. Majoro was sworn in as Lesotho's Prime Minister, following the resignation of his embattled predecessor, Thomas Thabane.
