President Geingob expresses condolences to the family of founding Oshana Governor Vatuva

President Hage Geingob has expressed condolences to the family of the founding Governor of the Oshana Region, Sylvanus Vatuva. The former Governor, who was 87 years old passed away today, at Ongwediva. In his message of condolences to the family, President Geingob said Vatuva was a trailblazer and dedicated public servant, as the first councillor of Oshakati East and founding Governor of the Oshana Region following independence on 21 March 1990. Geingob said Vatuva played a crucial role in assisting the central Government in dismantling Apartheid Bantustans, and the setting up of administrative structures in the Oshana Region. He said, "his contributions in shaping the growth trajectory of the region to what it is today are indeed significant."
