President Hage Geingob has extended condolences to the government and people of Algeria over the death of that country's former President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika Bouteflika died on Friday, aged 84. In his message of condolence, President Geingob stated that Bouteflika played a crucial role in isolating apartheid South Africa and forged bonds of friendship with Namibia during that difficult period. He added that Africans at large owe the late Bouteflika a debt of gratitude for the extraordinary role he played in the transformation of the Organisation for African Union to the AU.
