President Hage Geingob has extended the COVID-19 response measures for another 30 days, with minor alterations. The restriction of movement in form of curfew remains intact from 22h00 to 04h00 daily. The limit of people attending public gatherings has been increased from 50 to 100 for both in and outdoors. Restaurants, bars and shebeens will be allowed to extend their liquor trading hours to 22h00 Monday to Saturdays, while the sale of alcohol on Sundays remains prohibited. Geingob also extended his appreciation to China and India for the donation of the COVID-19 vaccines. During the President's announcement in the capital today, Health Minister, Dr Kalumbi Shangula expressed concerns over new infections. Shangula reiterated the President's call for adherence to the measures put in place to curb the spread of the pandemic.
