President Hage Geingob has extended the term of office for Ombudsman John Walters for two months to give the Commission enough time to find a replacement. The Judicial Service Commission was expected to have online interviews for three shortlisted candidates last Friday, but the process was postponed after one of the candidates was hospitalised. The Judicial Service Commission in a statement said, it will now proceed to finalise the process of the recruitment of the new Ombudsman who will be expected to assume office effective 1st October. The Candidates who were shortlisted were Secretary at National Council, Tousy Namiseb, Acting Fishcor CEO Ruth Herunga and Basilius Dyakungha Head Legal Officer at Law Reform and Development Commission.
