President Geingob launches improved ID cards

The government is planning to engage neighbouring countries to allow the use of ID cards for travel purposes, replacing passports. President Hage Geingob today, launched the new and improved ID cards for Namibians, permanent residents and refugees. The new ID cards come with improved security features such as the replacement of fingerprints. They will also be used in scanning machines similar to the ones used for e-passports. President Geingob hailed the new ID cards as a step closer to complete regional and continental integration.
