President Hage Geingob departed to New York in the United States of America last night to join other Heads of State and Governments at the United Nations' 76th General Assembly. All 193 Member States of the United Nations are represented in the General Assembly. This year's UN General Assembly is being held under the theme "Building resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainability, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalize the United Nations". The General Assembly will start on 21 until 30 September 2021. Geingob was accompanied by the First Monica Geingob and they are expected to return by the end of this month.
