President Hage Geingob and other SADC leaders will convene tomorrow virtually for the 40th ordinary SADC summit. In view of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the summit will be conducted with a reduced agenda and focus on critical institutional matters. In a statement, President Geingob said the summit provides an opportunity for member states to work on resilient processes, systems and institutions to contain challenges related to COVID-19 He adds that while the regional leaders tackle the immediate challenge of COVID-19, they should not lose sight of the challenges of peace and security for the region. The NBC will broadcast the summit, convened under the theme: '40 Years Building Peace and Security, and Promoting Development and Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges', live on NBC1 and online platforms from 10h00 tomorrow morning.
