President Hage Geingob has warned of consequences for flouting the COVID-19 regulations. In May, 89 were arrested for flouting the COVID-19 regulations in Windhoek. The Police are yet to quantify and release statistics for the entire country. The majority of arrests in Windhoek took place during Police raids at gatherings exceeding the curfew hours. Law-breakers can be fined up to N$100 000 or face ten-year imprisonment as contained in the Public and Environmental Health Act. President Geingob warned that disregard for COVID-19 regulations will not be allowed to continue.
