Non-profit organisation Project Never Walk Alone celebrated its first anniversary on Wednesday. The project aims to ensure that no Namibian child goes to school barefooted and has over the past 12 months delivered over 4 000 pairs of shoes to children across the country. Tim Ekandjo, founder and CEO of Project Never Walk Alone spoke to nbc news and says that the project will continue in its bid to give each vulnerable child a pair of good quality shoes. "Each region we have visited has a unique story to tell, every journey is an emotional one for us and the team of volunteers, we wish we could help the children all at once," said Ekandjo. About 14 Namibian artists volunteer at the project, cancelling their busy schedules to provide services to the project explained Ekandjo. The project will head to the Kavango West Region in September to donate school shoes to schools.
