Incidences of crime, particularly rape and murder, and how the police response to it are a cause for concern in Namibia According to statistics, 162 cases of murder have been opened with the Namibian Police (NAMPOL) since January this year. One of the most brutal murder cases, which sent shockwaves through the community but has remained unsolved, is that of 12-year-old Avihe Cheryl Ujaha in 2018. Three days after she went missing, Avihe's mutilated body was found dumped in bushes, with some body parts still missing.
