Recon Africa scooped the Rising Star of the Year Award at the Africa Energy Week (AEW), currently underway in Cape Town, South Africa. This year, the AEW is hosting the first annual African Energy Awards, aimed at promoting the achievements and pioneering work of Africa’s energy stakeholders. Nominees in the category of Rising Star of the Year Award included Gabon's Assala Energy and BW Energy an oil and gas company that holds majority interests in three hydrocarbon licenses in Gabon, Brazil and Namibia. Recon Africa CEO Scott Evans received the award.
