Residents of the Sibbinda Constituency in the Zambezi Region are demanding justice for those whom they say are being killed mysteriously for years now, with no arrest by the Police. They staged a demonstration in Lusu and Muketela villages. The latest victim they say was a university graduate, Mainga Matiti, who worked only for a month and his mutilated body was found in the vicinity of the Lusu village. Approached for comments, Police Commander in the Zambezi Region, Commissioner Marius Katamila, says he is aware of a number of hits and run incidences in the area, having recorded there during his tenure. He says it has been difficult for police to trace the suspects of such accidents, as there were not many clues, such as parts of the cars involved on the scene. He, therefore, calls on the community, especially those who have witnessed such accidents or have evidence, to contact the police with such information. He says the police have so far started engagements with community members in the area to find possible culprits or information that might lead to their arrests.
