Rundu Rural Constituency Councillor Michael Shikongo appeared in the Rundu Magistrate's Court on a charge of gender-based violence. Shikongo is accused of assaulting 63-year-old Kristine Likakatere at Tjeye Village outside Rundu. The Swapo party councillor appeared before Magistrate Sonia Sampofu, who granted bail of N$3 000. The matter was then remanded to 18 October 2020 for plea and trial.
