Angola is getting ready to host the double summit of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Troika to assess the situation in Lesotho and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Earlier on Monday, senior officials met in preparation for the heads of state and government summit taking place on Tuesday. Preceding the summit will be a ministerial meeting scheduled for this Monday afternoon. The Summit will receive progress reports on the implementation of the SADC decisions on Lesotho, assess the situation in the DRC and discuss the consolidation of democracy in the region. The Double Troika Summit will comprise of the heads of South Africa, Namibia and the Kingdom of eSwatini in their capacities as chair, deputy chair and outgoing chair of SADC. Angola, Zambia and Tanzania are there as chair, deputy chair and outgoing chair of the SADC Organ on Political, Defence and Security Cooperation.
