Samuel Maharero remembered on Heroes' Day

Due to the prevalence of COVID-19, Namibians in their own silos marked Heroes' Day. Namibia's Heroes' Day commemoration started way in 26 August 1923, when remains of the late Ovaherero Paramount Chief Samuel Maherero were repatriated from Botswana and reburied in Okahandja. Samuel Maharero's grandchild, Tjinaani Maharero, is the current Maharero Traditional Authority's chief says the legacy of the late leader should continue to be remembered by current and future generations.
