A senior hydrologist has dismissed reports of imminent floods looming in the Cuvelai River Basin in Southern Angola. Following a week of good rainfall in most parts of northern Namibia, Leonard Hango says rains have caused pools of stagnating water in the Oshanas, though not an inflow of floodwater from the neighbouring country.
